Putting that philosophy into action, FredaLA.com is donating work-appropriate handbags to all residents of La Posada part of New Economics For Women (NEW), a charity that helps families achieve increased job preparedness, employable skills, job stability, asset building and better parenting skills since 1985. In addition to donating new interview/back-to-school bags to La Posada, FredaLA.com is beginning a nationwide handbag donation program. Everyone donating a new or used handbag to FredaLA.com will receive a product coupon good for $20 off the purchase of any handbag. All new and used bags collected through the program will be donated to the female residents at La Posada. La Posada, a two year transitional home for teen mothers, is one of five NEW homes currently run under NEW. La Posada Housing up to sixty single women with their children, La Posada offers on-site licensed day care, child development, parenting, self esteem and domestic violence prevention classes as well as job training programs. "To get a job you've got to walk in the door looking great and feeling great," states Freda Kunin.
