Ride the Rails, Explore the Trails

Of Historic and Stunning Washington State

September 14 - 18, 2004

Join the fun and jump aboard!   Washington State boasts some of America's most breathtaking natural scenery, fascinating towns and acclaimed museums. If you haven’t visited the Pacific Northwest in a while--now’s the time.  Glorious vistas and story-lines galore!

This "Fall Highlights" press trip will take in dozens of scenic stops and attractions along the Amtrak Cascades line and Interstate-5 corridor.

  • EXPLORE Southwest Washington: We’ll visit Fort Vancouver National Historic Site and Vancouver's Pearson Air Museum; get up close to mighty Mount St. Helens (2005 marks 25 years after the eruption), wander through antique shops of Centralia, and discover Olympia’s waterfront,

  • ENJOY the spectacular scenery as we travel past awe inspiring Mt. Rainier on our way to discover Tacoma's new Museum District and stunning waterfront.

  • EXPERIENCE shopping with a view or just unwind in Edmonds; Tour the Boeing Assembly Plant in Everett (the world’s largest building under one roof!)

  • EMBRACE the unparalleled beauty of Chuckanut Drive; enjoy a
walking tour of Bellingham or Fairhaven, then ride Amtrak from Bellingham to Skagit Valley's, Mt. Vernon and lovely La Conner.

  • ENTICED  by the taste of urban culture 'n coffee, our press trip concludes in Seattle, that dazzling metropolitan playground on the edge of the wilderness.

Scheduled with possible pre- and post-extensions.

This intimately-scaled press trip is designed for a total of just six travel journalists with solid outlets in the Western U.S. It includes all transportation, accommodations, most meals and entrance to attractions.
